Certificates were awarded to participants of the FER School—Non-Academic Level (Summer Semester 2024) on June 7, 2024, at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Sarajevo. The ceremony honored those who were present from the fifth generation of FER School participants, who began their studies in 2021. These participants have been gaining additional knowledge at the intersection of religion, gender, philosophy, media sociology, peacebuilding, and other topics.
rom February to June 2024, the TPO Foundation, supported by the Women’s Ecumenical Initiative, organized lectures for the Feminism and Religion (FER) School, catering to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. In addition to the head of the FER School, Prof. Dr. Sci.Zilka Spahić Šiljak, and dr.sc. Jadranka Rebeka Anić, lectures were delivered by professors from universities in Ljubljana, Zagreb, Osijek, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Tuzla, and Mostar. The non-academic level of the FER School this semester included the following courses:
- Feminism: An Absolute Curse
- Eastern Faces of Feminism
- Sociology of Gender: Don’t Walk Like That
- Gender, Religion, and the Media: We Are Few, but We Are Many
- Is Peace a Woman’s Thing?
The FER School is a platform that, through its dialogic format, facilitates the meeting and confrontation of secular and religious traditions, science, activism, and cultures. It thereby enables the questioning of canons, knowledge, and cultural practices that are often imposed as dogmas and immutable realities.
